Hi Astrobashers!

Firstly, let’s celebrate the end of the exams! I hope everyone has finished, including the people from SMU who are coming for this trip itself.

Secondly, there are many important updates.

1) Itinerary
Attached is the itinerary of the trip itself. Please have a look at it, and that the meeting time on Monday 14th December itself will be 12 pm at Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal.

2) Safety Briefing
A safety briefing meeting will be held at on 10th December, Thursday, 6.30 pm at Science Faculty, S16-04-36 (Venue Tentatively Confirmed). Please be reminded that we will also collect the forms (indemnity/swimming declaration) from all participants. If you are unable to attend the briefing, the forms will be collected when we meet for the trip itself, and the slides for the briefing will be sent out to you.

3) Indemnity forms
Please sign and return the indemnity forms attached to this email during the safety briefing. There are two forms, namely the Swimming Declaration Form and Consent and Indemnity Form. Do take note of the different portions of the form (Namely Under 21 and 21 and Above)

4) Packing List
This packing list will serve as a rough gauge of what essentials to bring.

5) Currency
Generally, SGD is accepted in the Northern part of Bintan, but there might be cases where trading can only be done in Indonesian Ruppiah. As a guideline, please bring at least $100 SGD and > 30 SGD worth of Ruppiah just to be safe, subjected to personal spending habits. Do take note of the packing list for further information on what you might be expected to spend on.

6) Further updates
There will be more email and sms updates which will contain information such as the map for the meeting up point closer to the trip itself.
