What’s Up with Titan’s Spin?

Contributed by: Huang Yunle
It was long believed that with Saturn’s strong gravitational pull on Titan (Saturn’s moon), its spin axis will be exactly perpendicular to its orbital plane and that it rotates “synchronously, completing exactly one rotation every time it goes around Saturn”. Nevertheless, what observed is different from expected. Read this article to find out the differences between the “predicted” and “realities”, and also what may result in the differences.
