Based on the images taken by NASA orbiter, researchers now suspect that Mars once had a long wet spell that had run far longer than they had previously estimated, and this difference is about a billion years. This could have influenced the formation of some of its landscapes since they were wet for a longer time. However, the researchers in charge of this project did not reject other possibilities to explain their new findings on the physiology of the Mars landscapes.
